Joan Wiggins Price, 68, of 211 Rifle Range Road, died Sunday afternoon at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held tonight at 7 in the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive. The Rev. Tony McLamb and the Rev. Jerry Mitchell will officiate. Committal and interment will be on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive.

Mrs. Price was a native of Mount Olive. She grew up attending Northeast Free Will Baptist Church and in recent years, had been a member of Walnut Creek Free Will Baptist Church. She was formerly employed with Burlington Industries and Georgia-Pacific and was a teacher for a number of years at Mount Olive Kiddie Kollege.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter W. and Louise Brogden Wiggins, and her sister, Janice W. Parker.

Survivors include her husband, Garry A. Price of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Angelia and Don Harris of Bayboro, and Phyllis and E.C. Jones of Goldsboro; six grandchildren, Lauren Jones, Heather Jones, Joy Jones Herring and husband, Andy, Sarah Prescott, Brittany Harris, and Jason Harris; a "grand-dog", Sandi; brothers-in-law, Brooks Parker of Mount Olive, Duland Price and wife, Sue, of Sharpsburg, Larry Price and wife, Lex, of Thedford, Pa., and LeCora Price and wife, Joan K., of Goldsboro; and a special niece, Lou Ann Parker Jones of Mount Olive.

The family will remain at the funeral home to receive friends following the service tonight, and will receive friends at the residence at other times.

Flowers are welcome, or memorial gifts may be sent to American Cancer Society.
