MARY F. REGISTER

Died March 12, 2006

CLINTON -- Mary Frances Register, 84, of 409 W. Main St., died Sunday at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.

She was a member of Holly Grove Presbyterian Church and the funeral will be held there at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Dr. Tyanna Day, Dr. Greg Day and the Rev. Ken Eanes will officiate. Interment will be in Clinton City Cemetery..

Mrs. Register was a native of Sampson County and was retired from the Clinton Police Department with 33 years of service. She was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Owen Williams and Hettie Tart Williams, and her husband, Harris Register.

She is survived by 10 nieces, Barbara Dixon and Kay Raynor of Clinton, Vickie Lewis of Dunn, Susan Feaganes and Ann Herring of Newton Grove, Jane Kornegay, Peggy Hollowell and Hettie Gales of Goldsboro and Jean Lamm of Wilson and Joy Reaves of Garland; two nephews, Bryan Williams of Newton Grove and James P. Williams Jr. of Las Cruces, N.M.; and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home, and other times at 405 Lafayette St., Clinton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holly Grove Presbyterian Church, 3940 Union School Road, Clinton, N.C., 28328.
