Wilbert Herring, 87, died Saturday in Washington, D.C.
He was formerly of Goldsboro and was a 1938 graduate of Dillard High School.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Halls Brothers Funeral Home in Washington, D.C.
