Karen Cooper Teachey, 47, of 304 S. Audubon Ave., died Tuesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

The funeral will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Goldsboro Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Teachey was the daughter of Annie Ruth Coley Cooper and the late William Russell Cooper and was a 1976 graduate of Goldsboro High School.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sons, Damon Lamont Cooper of Korea and Leslie Teachey Jr. of the home; one brother, James Russell Cooper of Jacksonville, Fla.; five sisters, Celestine Walker and Victoria Moore of Goldsboro, Barbara Oxendine of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., Diana James-Wynder of Hampton, Va., and Catherine Grogans of Laurel, Md.; and one grandchild.

The viewing will be at the church during the hour prior to the service on Friday afternoon.

Rhodes Funeral Home is serving the family.
