EVELYN WARRICK COX

Evelyn Warrick Cox, 78, died today at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clifford Harwood and the Rev. Jason Sherman officiating. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mrs. Cox was born in New York on July 16, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Mallie Avery Warrick and Lela Langston Warrick and was the widow of Council Cox. Mrs. Cox retired from the dietary department at O'Berry Center and was a member of Black Jack Grove Free Will Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Parks of Mount Olive; three sisters, Helen Collins of Belfast, Geraldine Faircloth of Durham and Betty Burleson of Winston-Salem; one grandson, Michael Parks and wife Paula of Mount Olive; one granddaughter, Angela Remines and husband Bobby of Seven Springs; and three great-grandchildren, Justin Remines, Emily Remines and Brittany Remines.

She was preceded in death by one son, Billy Ray Cox; one sister, Margaret Farmer; four brothers, Merle Warrick, Paul Warrick, Walter Warrick and Bert Warrick; and one son-in-law, Thomas Parks.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 until 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the residence at 218 Southern Drive, Dudley.
