The funeral for Vernessa "Molly" Hilliard will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Invitation A.M.E. Zion Church in Snow Hill. The Rev. Joseph Perry will officiate. Burial will be in Snow Hill Cemetery.

She was a native of Wilson County and was the daughter of Beaulah Hilliard of Snow Hill and the late Grant Mark Hilliard. She graduated from Greene Central High School and attended Wayne Community College. She was employed for many years at Goshen Rubber Plant in Snow Hill. She was a member of Invitation A.M.E. Zion Church, where was a member of Choir #1 and Choir #2, served on the Steward and Home Mission boards and was district officer of the Missionary Department.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by three sisters, Karen Hilliard of Goldsboro, Shirlene Hilliard of Durham and Beverly Carmon of Snow Hill; two brothers, Ronald Hilliard of Greenville, N.C., and Wesley Hilliard of Snow Hill; and a number of nieces and one nephew.

The viewing hours will be from 3 until 6 p.m. on Friday at Hamilton Funeral Chapel in Goldsboro and the wake will follow from 7 until 8 at Invitation A.M.E. Zion Church.
