SNOW HILL -- Edna Doris Thomas Leigh, 72, died Wednesday at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

Mrs. Leigh was a native of Greene County and was the daughter of the late Lamb Burton and Clara Harper Thomas. She retired from the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles and was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Kinston.

The funeral will be held Friday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service. The Reverends Bobby Williams and Willis Pearson will officiate. The committal service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Snow Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Leigh is survived by her husband, James Alton Leigh; three daughters, Phyllis T. Cox of Wilmington and Joyce T. Warren and Teresa Norris of Loris, S.C.; a sister, Sarah Tyndall of Snow Hill; three brothers, Carroll Thomas and Harold Thomas of Snow Hill and Wiley Simpson of Forest City; and seven grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service on Friday, and other times at the residence at 100 Sugg Drive, Snow Hill.
