DELORES J. COHEN

Delores "Lois" Joyce Cohen, 72, of 738 Indian Springs Road, Mount Olive, died early Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Born in Providence, R.I., she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Sadalia Diaz Atkins and the widow of Alphonse Salvatore Sabella and Milton Cohen. She was member of Emmaus Baptist Church and a former employee of the Southern Belle Restaurant in Mount Olive. She lived in New York for a number of years, where was a Girl Scout Troop Leader and was active in the League of Animal Protection.

She is survived by her son, Joseph Sabella of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; five daughters, Faith B. Meyer of Dallas, Texas, Donna Maria Nieman of Raeford, Virginia Joyce Hermida of Bradenton, Fla.,, Diane Lorraine Fiorentino of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Suzanne Cohen-Campbell of Mount Olive; one sister, Lorraine "Rainy" Rose of Charleston, S.C.; and 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held by the graveside on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Emmaus Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Johnny Sasser officiating.

The family will be receiving friends immediately following the service.
