The funeral for Effie Strickland Adams, 82, will be held Friday morning at 11 in the chapel at Wayne Memorial Park Mausoleum. The Rev. Don Gulledge will officiate.
Mrs. Adams died Monday at her home at 1022 Emmaus Church Road, Dudley.
She was a Wayne County native, the youngest of 11 children born to the late Anderson and Mary Price Strickland. She was the widow of Edward Braxton Adams and was formerly employed in the housekeeping department at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Grant Chapel Church and also attended Wayne Chapel Church.
Her survivors include one son, Edward Morris Adams of Seven Springs; two daughters, Judy Davis of Dudley and Doris Petrak of Goldsboro; and 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service on Friday morning and at the home of Morris Adams, 309 Adams Road, Seven Springs,
Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home is serving the family.
