Iva Everette Jinnette Carr, 81, of 1009 East Eleventh St., died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1000 E. Eleventh St. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mrs. Carr was a native of Wayne County and was the daughter of the late William Pope Jinnette and Mae Kornegay Jinnette. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she served in many capacities.

She is survived by her husband, William Ray Carr Sr.; seven children, Jan Aycock and her husband, Allen, of Fremont, Bill Carr and his wife, Vanessa, of Ararat, Va., Kathy Collins and her husband, Norman, of Goldsboro, Jeanne Cupp and her husband, Stan, of Willow Springs, John Carr and his wife, Nancy, of Clayton, Jim Carr and his wife, Dawn, of Goldsboro, and Robert Carr and his wife, Robyn, of Switzerland, Fla.; 24 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Katherine Edgerton of Rosewood and Dora Browder and her husband, Tim, of Medford, Oregon.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carr was preceded in death by a brother, Giles Robert Jinnette; a sister, Willie Mae "Billie" Jinnette Brown; and a grandson, Steven Mark Carr.

The family will receive friends at the church during the hour prior to the funeral on Tuesday, and other times at the residence.
