ELBERT BOONE

WARSAW -- The funeral for Elbert Ray Boone, 83, will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Community Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Devotional Gardens.

Mr. Boone died Sunday at Southwood Nursing Center in Clinton.

He was the son of the late Raymond G. and Sudie Norris Boone of Duplin County and was the widower of Louise Stroud Boone. Prior to retirement, he was employed in the maintenance department at Duplin County Schools.

He is survived by three sons, Gary Glenn Boone of Magnolia, Elbert Kenneth Boone of Rose Hill, Anthony Boone of Wallace; four daughters, Doris Boone Dixon of Rose Hill, Joyce Boone Jones of Clinton, Louise Boone Holland of Turkey and Kimberly Boone Yanez of Pink Hill; three sisters, Peggy Boone Fussell and Leona Boone Sholar of Surf City and Shirley Boone Griffin of Williamston; and 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Another sister, Louise Boone Tilman of Georgia, preceded him in death.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Community Funeral Home, and other times at the residence on Bleeker Street in Magnolia.
