HUGH CLEMENT SR.

GREENSBORO -- Hugh Clement Sr., 84, died Monday at Moses Cone Hospital.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church, where he was a member. The Rev. Jamie Armstrong will officiate. A graveside service will be held on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 at Willow Dale Cemetery in Goldsboro.

Mr. Clement was a native of Stoney Point and was the son of the late Ray and Mary Turner Clement. He served as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps in the Marine Aviation in Peleliu during World War II. He retired in 1974 as a plant manager with J.P. Stevens.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Norene Johnson Clement, and is survived by one son, Mac Clement of Cumming, Ga.; and two granddaughters.

The family will receive friends on Friday night from 7 until 9 at Forbis & Dick Funeral Service in Greensboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4 Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro, N.C., 27401.
