WILLIAM HOWELL

PRINCETON -- William (Dub) Duffy Howell, 73, of 792 Rains Mill Road, died Friday afternoon at Wake Medical Center.

Born in Wayne County on May 23, 1932, he was the son of the late Moody Ashley and Cova Bagwell Howell.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Melton and John Ann Barnhill.

Mr. Howell was a member of the Princeton Baptist Church, where he served as Sunday School Teacher, Usher, and a member of the Princeton Baptist Men.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. today at the Princeton Baptist Church. The Reverends Lee Eames and William A. (Billy) Howell, will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Emma Lee Game Howell; two sons, Robert Pendergraft and wife, Kim of Wake Forest, the Rev. Billy Howell and wife, Patty of Pineville, Ky.; two daughters, Bonnie Davis and husband, Frank of Goldsboro, Cova Gardner and husband, David of Goldsboro; two brothers, George Howell of Fletcher, and Ken Howell and wife, Pat of Princeton; one sister, Mildred Williams of Wilson; one brother-in-law, Lloyd Barnhill of Wake Forest; nine grandchildren, Robert and Renee Ormond, Hayden and Taylor Gardner, Kalas and Karli Pendergraft, Ashley, Brooke, and Caitlyn Howell; and one great-grandchildren, Trey Ormond.

The family received friends Saturday evening at Casey Funeral Home, Princeton.
