MAEBELLE BEST

WARSAW -- Maebelle Cashwell Best, 89, died Friday at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton.

One of five children, she was born Aug. 23, 1916 to the late John Everette Cashwell and wife, Mary Jane English Cashwell of Sampson County.

Mrs. Best was the wife of the late Eddie Blackburn and Russell Best.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Best was preceded in death by one son, Glen Blackburn, and four siblings.

She is survived by two sons, Allen Blackburn of Greensboro, and Charles Blackburn and wife, Kathy of Indiana; one daughter, Wanda Sharpe and husband, Michael of Richmond, Va.; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Blackburn of Warsaw; eight grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 7 p.m. this evening in the Community Chapel, at Community Funeral Home of Warsaw, Inc., 1654 Highway 24/50 E., Warsaw. The Rev. Steve Cayton will officiate. Visitation will follow. At other times, family and friends will be received at the Blackburn home, Claude Scott Road, Warsaw.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Devotional Gardens, Highway 24/50, Warsaw.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Duplin Freewill Baptist Church, 987 Highway 24/50 E., Warsaw, N.C., 28398.
