Helen Pope Edgerton, 72, of 909 Mitchell Road, Dudley, died Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The funeral was held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Emmaus Baptist Church. The Rev. Johnny Sasser officiated. Burial was at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mrs. Edgerton was born in Johnston County to the late W. Guy and Inez Howard Pope and was married to Glenn Edgerton. She was an active member of Emmaus Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Curtis Edgerton of Castalia and Keith and Laura Edgerton of Clearwater, Fla.; one brother, Frank Pope of Kenly; and four sisters, Janice White of Wilson, Faye McClain, Cindy Hooks and Brenda Lewis, all of Kenly.
The family received friends Friday from 7 until 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
