KINSTON --A graveside service for Lee Robert Rhodes, 86, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Westview Cemetery. A memorial service will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 at Gordon Street Christian Church. The Rev. Mark Benson will officiate.
Mr. Rhodes died Thursday.
He was the son of the late Chris Humphrey Rhodes and Fred Rhodes of Onslow County. He retired from the U. S. Postal Service and later worked part-time with Lenoir Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Gordon Street Christian Church for over 50 years,
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Rouse Rhodes of the home; daughter Lana Rhodes Riggs of LaGrange; stepson, Mac Johnson of Morehead City; brother Sidney Rhodes of Richlands; sisters, Nancy Morley of Ogden, Utah, and Jennie Mae Hood of Richlands; three grandchildren, two step-grandsons and seven step-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 8:30 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gordon Street Christian Church, 118 E. Gordon St., Kinston, N.C., 28501.
