Lois Mae Davis Pender, 81, of 1340 Genoa Road, died Saturday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late George B. and Betty Davis, and the wife of the late Douglas Pender. She was employed with Young Squire of Mount Olive for 25 years and attended Brogden Chapel Church.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev Tom Dorman will officiate. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mrs. Pender is survived by a son, Gary Douglas and wife, Louwanna Pender of Pikeville; seven daughters, Betty and husband, Raymond "Buck" Jones of Dudley, Jewel and husband, Doward Brugh of Dudley, Delores Ann and husband, Tim Denn of Seattle, Wash., Patricia Diane and husband, Joe Ruggieri of Medford, Mass., Rachel Sheila Potter, of the home, Barbara Ruth and husband, Billy Brock Sr. of Dudley, Hope and husband, Bob Kennedy of Dudley; 23 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one greatgreat-grandson; three brothers, Sonny Davis of North Carolina, George Davis of Virginia Beach, Va., Bob Davis of Goldsboro; a special sister, Frances and husband, Tommy Price of Goldsboro.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 until 9 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home, 1340 Genoa Road, Dudley.
