LOU S. MCLENDON

Leatha Louella "Lou" Sloan McLendon, 59, of 812 Stoney Creek Church Road, died Monday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Rosewood Church of God with the Rev. Richard Dial and the Rev. Tom McLendon officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. McLendon was born in Greenbrier County, W.Va., and was the daughter of Leatha Fleshman Sloan of Anderson, S.C., and the late Ralph Sloan. She was a member of the Cary Church of God in Cary, where she sang with the Voices of Praise and served as the choir secretary.

In addition to her mother, Mrs. McLendon is survived by her husband, Walter Glenn McLendon; two daughters, Tara Warren and husband, Gerry, of Durham and Beth McLendon of Waco, Texas; and two sisters, Janice Williams and husband, Larry, of Cary and Patti White and husband, Steve, of Anderson, S.C.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 until 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the residence.
