GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Nina Honeycutt Gardner, 85, a resident of NHC Healthcare of Greenville, died Monday.

Mrs. Gardner was born in Holly Springs and was the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary Jane Norris Honeycutt. She and her husband, the late John Leyburn Gardner, lived in Goldsboro for 30 years. She was retired from Sears-Roebuck & Co. Inc., was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Fuquay-Varina, and was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Goldsboro.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Love Strattman of Greenville, S.C.; one son, John C. Gardner of Oxford, Ga.; and five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.

The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of The Mackey Mortuary in Greenville, S.C. A graveside service will conducted on Friday at 1 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Fuquay-Varina.

The family will receive friends following the funeral on Thursday and the graveside service on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 301 University Ridge, Suite 5000, Greenville, S.C., 29601.
