BEULAVILLE --The funeral for Katie Gertrude Whitehead was held Friday at noon at the Church of God and True Holiness. Elder Lynn Beanum officiated. Burial was in Whitehead Cemetery.
She died last Monday.
A native of Duplin County, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Lillian Matthews Whitehead.
She is survived by two sons, Joseph S. Garris of Dallas, Texas, and Aaron F. Garris of the home; one daughter, Dorothy G. Corprew of the home; and 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family received friends on Friday evening at Matthews Funeral Chapel in Wallace.
