KENNETH CARTER

LUCAMA -- Kenneth Carter, 69, of 305 E. Oak St., died Tuesday at home.

A private burial will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.

Mr. Carter was the son of the late Raymond and Rosa Carter and was a retired truck driver.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Carter; one son, Danny Carter of Elon; one stepson, Jeffrey Hawkins of Red Oak; one daughter, Phyllis Bunn of Lucama; two stepdaughters, Judy Webb of Lucama and Marion Hawkins of Red Oak; five brothers, Wayne Carter of Nashville, Charles Kirby of Wendell, Joe Kirby of Lucama, Steve Kirby of Fremont, and Junior Bass; five sisters, Brenda Rollins of Nashville, N.C., Jean Watson of Iowa, Rachel Langley of Kenly, Diane Baker and Irene Hooks; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family is being served by Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont.
