Died Dec. 19, 2005

LAGRANGE -- Mittie Hinnant Perry, 90, 204 E. James St., died Monday at Britthaven of Snow Hill.

She was born in Lenoir County to the late Joseph and Winnie Harrison Hinnant. She was the wife of the late Johnnie Perry and a member of Free Gospel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church for more than 60 years.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Free Gospel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church. Interment will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery.

She is survived by two daughters, Judy Hawkins and husband, Earl, of LaGrange, and Sandra Pate and husband, Wesley, of Smithfield; two sons, Clarence Perry and Wife, Phyllis, of Hope, Kan., and Lenwood Perry and wife, Ruby, of LaGrange, a sister, Edna Williams of Snow Hill; a brother-in-law, Ivey Mewborn of Snow Hill; nine grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Ricky and Scott Perry; six sisters, Maggie Creech, Carrie Bunn, Vicey Taylor, Mattie Perry, Winnie Mewborn and Thelma Fertitta; and four brothers, Albert Hinnant, John Hinnant, Joe Hinnant and Logan Hinnant.

The family will receive friends and relatives Wednesday following the service. At other times, they will be at the home.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Free Gospel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church's building fund, 145 Free Gospel Road, Snow Hill, 28580.

Arrangements are being handled by Rouse Funeral Home of LaGrange.
