EMMA M. HARDISON

SNOW HILL -- Emma Mae Letchworth Hardison, 81, died Saturday at Farmville Health Care Center.

A native of Greene County, she was born Jan. 28, 1924, to Walter Duffy Letchworth and Martha Jones Letchworth. She was a graduate of Walstonburg High School and worked as a supervisor with North State Garment Co. of Farmville for more than 20 years. She was a member of Free Union Free Will Baptist Church.

The funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Alan Joyner officiating. Interment will be in the Snow Hill Cemetery.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Elwood Hardison Dec. 24, 1994, and a sister, Louise Letchworth Tyson, who passed away earlier this year.

She is survived by daughters, Joan Hardison Taylor and husband, Ken, of Walstonburg, and Brenda Hardison Little and husband, John, of Wilson; a son, Douglas E. Hardison Jr., and wife, Mary, of Wilson; grandchildren, Lisa Turnage of Farmville, Douglas E. Hardison III and Andy Hardison of Wilson, Michael Little of Greenville, Bill Taylor of Durham and Susan Taylor of Greenville; sisters, Elsie Hardison Keel of Snow Hill and Doris L. Williams of Garner; brothers, W.D. Letchworth of Goldsboro and Edward Letchworth of Greenville; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and relatives tonight from 7 to 8:30 at the funeral home. At other times they will be at the home of Ken and Joan Taylor, 399 Fieldsboro Road, Walstonburg.

Arrangements are being handled by Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service.
