KINSTON -- LaVonda "Cokie" Todd Kennedy, 62, sister of LaVera Smith of Goldsboro, died Friday.
The funeral will be held tonight at 7 in the chapel of Howard-Carter Funeral Home, Kinston. Pastor Bobby Williams will officiate. Burial will be Thursday morning at 10 at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Kennedy was the daughter of the late James Garrett and Iva Todd and was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Kinston.
In addition to her sister, Mrs. Kennedy is survived by her husband, Bernon Kennedy of the home; one daughter, Kim Kennedy of Kinston; three sons, Bernie Kennedy of Riegelwood and James Kevin Kennedy and Jason Bradley Kennedy of Kinston; another sister, Lana Todd Jones of Kinston; and six grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service tonight.
