WILSON -- The funeral for Elder Emory Peterson, 78, former pastor of St. Luke Church of Christ in Goldsboro, will be held today at 2 p.m. at St. Rose Church of Christ, Disciples of Chris. Elder Malcolm Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Pearsall Peterson of Wilson; one son, Christopher Peterson of Wilson; one daughter, Elaine Carter of Hawaii; three sisters, Rosa Edlow of Baltimore, Md., Edna Walker of Upper Marlboro, Md., and Evelyn Fenderson of Alberta, Va.; two brothers, Milton Peterson Jr. of Wallace and Robert Peterson of Lawrenceville, Va.; and one grandchild.
The viewing was held Sunday from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Carrons Funeral Home. At other times the family received friends at 2010-B Glendale Drive, Wilson.
