DAVID C. DAUGHTRY
Died Dec. 2, 2005
D. C. Daughtry Jr., 71, of 1306 Evergreen Avenue, died Friday.
A native of Wayne County, he was born Dec. 7, 1933, the son of Mattie Futrell Daughtry of Goldsboro and the late David C. Daughtry Sr.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Dr. Fred Clarke will officiate. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Daughtry is survived by his sister, Jean Daughtry Rose of Goldsboro; a niece, Jo Ann Rose Grant of Goldsboro; nephews, Jack "Jackie" Rose Jr. and wife, Mary Jane, of Goldsboro and Jeffery Rose and wife, Lou, of Goldsboro; great nieces, Melissa Smith, Amanda Lucas, and Jenny Kornegay; great nephews, Josh, Robert, Nicholas, and Jay Rose; great-great niece, McKayla Smith; great-great nephew, Sawyer Lucas.
In addition to his father, Mr. Daughtry was preceded in death by a special brother-in-law, Jack Rose Sr.
Flowers are welcomed or memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, 1609 E. Ash St., Goldsboro, N.C. 27530, or to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 2402 Wayne Memorial Dr., Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home, and at other times, they will be at the residence of Jean Rose, 1611 E. Mulberry St.
