GREENSBORO -- Mrs. Barbara O. Vick, 70, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, 10 a.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park in Goldsboro

Mrs. Vick was a native of Sampson County, N.C., the daughter of Clarence "Doc" Odom and Jewell Sutton Odom. She was employed with Wachovia where she was an assistant vice president in the mortgage division until her retirement. She was a devout Christian and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Barbara was a strong Southern woman, who embraced her children, grandchildren, friends and family with her unending love.

Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Bearl D. Vick in 2004 and her father, Clarence "Doc" Odom.

Surviving are her mother, Jewell Odom of Dobbersville, N.C.; daughter, DeVanuia (Dee) Bryan and husband Bill of Greensboro, N.C.; sons; Barry Padgett of Brown Summit, N.C., and Garry Padgett and wife Susan of Greensboro, N.C.; grandchildren, Kerry Padgett and wife Johnna, Jill and Joseph Padgett; and two great grandchildren, Leigha and Jewel Padgett; sister, Jean Stroud and husband Al of Goldsboro, N.C., sister-in-law, Jean Brady and husband Tom of Carthage; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 on Wednesday (tonight) at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
