Adrian E. Jones, 83, of 978 Tram Road at Jones Dairy, died early today.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday from the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home. Officiating at the service will be Father James Garneau and Father Edgar Sepulveda. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately after the service, and at other times, they will be at the home of Eugene and Cindy Jones. Committal and interment will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Maplewood Cemetery, Mount Olive.

Mr. Jones was a retired farmer and dairyman having owned and operated Jones Dairy, now operated by his son. He was instrumental in the founding of Wayne Dairy which later became Coble Dairy. He served on the Coble board of directors for many years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mount Olive.

He is survived by a daughter, Brenda J. and husband, Bill Holliday of Mount Olive; a son, Eugene and wife, Cindy H. Jones of Mount Olive; grandchildren, Jason A. and Julie Holliday, Jennifer Jones, and Ashley Jones, all of Mount Olive; two sisters and three brothers-in-law, Barbara J. and Buddy Flowers and Carolyn J. and Roy Lee Taylor, and Davis Sloan, all of Calypso; a sister-in-law, Betty Lou Jones of Mount Olive; and a special cousin and friend, Ray Smith of Mount Olive.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Fannie Hill Jones; his parents, Charlie Eris and Sudie Davis Jones; three brothers, Eldridge "Sug" Jones, Charlie Bernard Jones, and Arnold Jones; two sisters, Irene J. Summerlin and Thelma J. Sloan; and an infant sister, Nellie Elizabeth Jones.
