Eloise Parnell Deans, 80, of 855 NC 581 North, died Monday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home. The Rev. Rose Hicks will officiate. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.

Mrs. Deans was a native of Wayne County and was the daughter of the late Kagie and Gracie Talton Parnell and the widow of J. R. Deans. She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one sister, Jessie Lee P. Outlaw of Goldsboro; one brother, Bernice Parnell, and his wife, Yvonne, of Goldsboro; special cousin, Jessie Brock of Goldsboro; special grandchildren, Jaclyn Tyler Smith of Goldsboro, Christopher Warren Tyler and wife Jamie of Cary, and Nicholas Lee Robbins of Goldsboro; special great-grandson, Shane Anthony Smith of Goldsboro; and seven nieces and five nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mildred P. Warren, Margaret P. Meadows, and Arvona P. Eason, and one brother, Kagie "Tony" Parnell.

The family requests that memorials be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 2402 Wayne Memorial Dr., Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.

The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 7 until 9 at the funeral home, and other times at the residence.
