Ruby Hester Waddell, 82, of 8016 Shipps Lane, died Friday.
A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Monday at Unity Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Carol Clark will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship building.
She is survived by her husband, Ray W. Waddell Sr. of the home; two sons, Ray Waddell Jr. of Chapel Hill, and Mike Waddell of Wilmington; one daughter, Mindy Ritch of Charlotte; one step-daughter; one brother, Charles Hester of Bayview; one sister, Mindy Craven of Charlotte; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Warlick Funeral Home, Lincolnton, is in charge of the arrangements.
