Jessie Rose Yelverton Peacock of 1900 Berkeley Blvd. died Saturday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late J. B. Yelverton and Margaret Rose Yelverton and was married to the late Clarence W. "Icky" Peacock. Mrs. Peacock was an avid bridge player and a volunteer for Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the Salvation Army and the Lighthouse. She was a member of Fremont United Methodist Church.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Willow Dale Cemetery.
She is survived by a daughter, Jo Ann Logan and husband, Bob of Goldsboro; a son, Banks Peacock and wife, Deborah of Goldsboro and her grandchildren, Erin and Kevin Logan and Clark Peacock.
Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to the Lighthouse of Wayne County.
The family will receive friends Sunday (today) from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and at other times at the home of Jo Ann and Bob Logan, 2313 Granville Dr., Goldsboro.
