Willie James Starkie Jr., 50, of 2908 E. Ash St., died Wednesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Fleming Chapel Church in Greenville. Pastor Rex Fleming will officiate. Burial will be in Campbell's Cemetery in Vanceboro.
Mr. Starkie was the son of the late Thelma and Willie Starkie Sr. He was a lifetime resident of Goldsboro and was employed as a bartender and security guard with Don Leavy Social Club.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Starkie, and one son, Tyrone Starkie, of the home; six brothers, Gregory, James and Mike Starkie of Greenville, Larry Jones of Chocowinity, Gary Strakie of Albemarle and Pernell Starkie of Grimesland; three sisters, Vernell Smith and Sandra May of Greenville and Denise Covington of Lancaster, S.C.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 until 7 p.m. at Blake Phillips Funeral Home, 1206 Dickinson Ave., Greenville; and other times at 1129 Benjamin Drive, Greenville.
