ENFIELD -- Mary Alice Davis Rives, 80, died Saturday at her home after courageous battle with cancer.

She was the sister-in-law of Mrs. Jimmy (Vivia Rives) Creech of Smithfield.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Enfield.

Mrs. Rives was a native of Kinston and was the daughter of the late Elwood Bagley and Pauline Taylor Davis. She was a graduate of East Carolina College and was a former teacher.

In addition to her sister-in-law, Mrs. Rives is survived by her husband, Julian W. Rives of the home; sons, John W. Rives of Durham and Tim D. Rives of Lexington; daughter, Julie Rives Hoverman of Jacksonville; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 8:30 at Bowling Funeral Home.

A graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Enfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Enfield Baptist Church, 214 South Dennis Street, Enfield NC 27823, or Friends of Hospice, 2460 Curtis Ellis Drive, Rocky Mount, N.C., 27804.
