Died Nov. 5, 2005

ALBERTSON -- Clarence Lane Harper, 63, of 183 Clarence Harper Lane, died Saturday.

Mr. Harper was a self-employed truck driver and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Albertson. He was preceded in death by his father, J.C. Harper, and is survived by his mother, Katie Barwick Daly of New Bern.

Other survivors include his wife, Sally Stroud Harper of the home; two daughters, Kathy Letchworth of Kinston and Brenda Smith of Deep Run; one son, David Dawson of Kinston; two sisters, Pat Padgett of Mount Olive and Mary Filiberto of Pink Hill; and four grandchildren.

The funeral will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Albertson. Bishop Jimmy Herring will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Memorial Park in Pink Hill.

The family received friends on Sunday night at Howard-Carter Funeral Home, and other times at 183 Clarence Harper Lane.
