The funeral for Nannie "Alfreda" Britt Best will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. at Bear Creek Missionary Baptist Headquarters, 1800 S. Slocumb St. The Rev. J.A. Mumford will officiate. Burial will be in Old Mill Cemetery.

Mrs. Best died Sunday at her home at 251 Watershed Road, LaGrange. She was 87.

She was born in Wayne County to the late Henry and Johnnie Ann Britt. She retired as a custodian at Eastern Wayne Elementary School and was a member of Bible Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Goldsboro.

She is survived by four daughters, Aletha Howell of Kinston, Hazel Ham of LaGrange, Sylvia Shine of Goldsboro and Phyllis Moore of the home; four sons: Will Arthur Best, Marvin Best, Marion Best, and Johnnie Best of Goldsboro; and 36 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Friday from 2 until 7 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel in Goldsboro. The family will be present at 7 p.m. to receive friends.
