Norbert Orion Edgerton Jr., 53, died Friday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Mr. Edgerton was born on April 3, 1952, in Wayne County to Annie Mae Deaver Lever of Goldsboro and the late Norbert Orion Edgerton Sr. He was a truck driver with Conway Southern Express. Mr. Edgerton was a member of New Life Pentecostal Holiness Church in Mocksville, and had attended the First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Goldsboro.

A funeral services will be held 2 p.m. today at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Jimmy Whitfield will officiate. Interment will be 11 a.m. Monday at Nahunta Cemetery.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughters, Tasmin Edgerton of Manistee, Mich., and Alysha Edgerton of Smithfield; his brother, Caperse Edgerton and wife, Cathy, of Goldsboro; his half sisters, Velma Holland of Beaufort, Bessie Tucker of Beaufort, Mattie Gray of Morehead City and Margaret McCabe of Morehead City; his half-brother, James Edgerton of Morehead City; and his sister-in-law, Geraldine E. Edgerton.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Edgerton; and his half-brothers, Delbert Edgerton and Charles Edgerton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534, or to the Falcons Children Home, P.O. Box 39, Falcon, N.C., 28342.

The family will receive friends today following the service at Seymour Funeral Home, Goldsboro, and other times at 157 Belfast Avenue, Goldsboro.
