CLAYTON -- June Saunders, 74, formerly of Selma, died Wednesday after a long illness.
A native of Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late P.A. Murphrey and the late Lillie Mae Godwin Murphrey of Nash County. She retired from Selma Elementary School and was a member of Selma Pente-costal Free Will Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Paschal "Pat" Saunders, and is survived by three daughters, Terri S. Rogers of Clayton, Jerri L. Saunders of Cary and Pamala J. Williams of Angier.
A private graveside service held on Saturday in Selma Memorial Gardens.
The public is invited to a visitation at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma from 7 until 9 tonight.
