MOUNT OLIVE -- Alice Gerline Turner, 82, died early today at SunBridge Care Center.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home, with the Rev. Clark Barfield and the Rev. Daniel Forbes officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday in Wayne Memorial Park.

Miss Turner was a long-time resident of the Rones Chapel community and was a member of Rones Chapel United Methodist Church. She had been a clerk with the former White's Department Store in Mount Olive and retired as a licensed practical nurse with 31 years of service with Wayne County Memorial Hospital.

Preceded in death by her parents, John Ivey and Nettie Sullivan Turner, and a brother, Wilbert E. Turner, she is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy T. Roberts and Wyatt Roberts of Mount Olive; a special nephew, Kevin Roberts and his family of Dudley, and two nieces.

Flowers are welcome, or memorial donations may be made to Alice Gerline Turner Memorial Fund, Rones Chapel United Methodist Church, 138 Garner's Chapel Road, Mount Olive; or to the Roberts-Swinson Endowment Fund, Mount Olive College, 634 Henderson St., Mount Olive, N.C., 28365.
