Elton Isaiah Watson, 86, died Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Watson was the son of the late Jesse and Victoria Lamm Watson. He was a United States Army Veteran, a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

Funeral services will be held tonight at 8:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Earl Glenn officiating. Interment will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Norman Ard officiating.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Barnes Watson; one son and daughter-in-law, Frankie Elton Watson and Peggy Gray Watson of Goldsboro; two daughters and one son-in-law, Betty Watson of LaGrange and Joe and Elane Watson Wall of Goldsboro; four grandchildren , Jeff Watson and his wife, Ginger, Bryan Garris and his wife, Angie, Denise Brown and Jimmy Watson; seven great grandchildren, Alex and Katie Watson, Kayla and Matthew Garris, Christopher Tyndall, Zachary Brown and Jesse Watson; one brother, Clifton Watson and his wife, Joyce of Wilson; sisters, Lissie Turner of Lucama, Thelma Turner of Wilson and Arlene Lamm and her husband, Bobby of Wilson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Elmer, Millard and Vernon and his two sisters, Beatrice Sharp and Ruby Currie.

Although flowers are welcome, memorial donations may be made to the First Free Will Baptist Church, 604 E. Ash Street, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 8:30 at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
