MOUNT OLIVE -- The funeral for William Henry Barfield, 34, of 613 Adler Lane, will be held Thursday at 2 at St. Luke Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, 636 Waller Road. The Rev. L.D Melvin will officiate. Entombment will be at Carver Cemetery.
Mr. Barfield died Monday at his home.
He was the son of Thomas Carroll and Everlena Barfield. He served in the U.S. Army and was employed at North Carolina Central University Police Department in Durham.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by three children, Jasmine and Whitney of Alexandria, Va.. and Rhueben of Goldsboro; one brother, Thomas Barfield Jr. of Raleigh; one sister, Shawan B. Woodard of Wilson; and his maternal grandfather, Winsor Ingram of Mount Olive.
The viewing hours will be from 3 until 7 today at Garris Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at the residence at 613 Adler Lane.
