KINSTON -- Hazel W. Harris, 84, mother of Tommy Ray Harris of LaGrange, died Saturday at Britthaven of Kinston.
The funeral was held today at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Garner Funeral Home with the Rev. Marion Humphrey officiating. Burial will be in Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Harris was the widow of Tommie Harris. She retired from Glen Raven Mills and was a member of Revival Mission Church and the Harris Family Singers.
She is also survived by two other sons, Dalton Harris of Kinston and Robert Harris of Rocky Mount; one daughter, Jean Lewis of Kinston; one stepdaughter, Ruth Dunn of Newport News, Va.; and 23 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
The family received friends on Sunday night at funeral home, and other times at 1521 Memory Lane in Kinston.
