RUBY DILLINGHAM

March 31, 1911-Sept. 27, 2005

Ruby Queen Dillingham, 94, of 401 N. Morgan St., Shelby, formerly of 216 Mimosa Park Drive, Goldsboro, died Tuesday at White Oak Manor of Shelby.

A native of Cleveland County, she was a retired clerk with the Post Exchange of the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Adamsville Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, B.G. Queen and Mattie Russ Queen; her husband, T.D. Dillingham; four sisters, Madge Silver, Florence Cochran, Dorothy Cloninger and Betty Jo Murphy; and two brothers, Robert and Bud Queen

Survivors include her niece and caregiver, Marie Horne of Shelby, and several other nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Clay-Barnette Funeral Home. The Rev. Steve Austin will officiate. Private family burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 until 2:15 p.m. on Friday, and other times at Marie Horne's home at 1205 Hunt St., Shelby.
