MOUNT OLIVE -- Melvin Ardell Williams, 65, of 212 Cox Pond Road, died Monday morning at his home.

The funeral will be held tonight at 7 in the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home. The Rev. Jimmy Swinson will officiate. Burial will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday in Maplewood Cemetery.

Mr. Williams was the son of the late Stanley and Mabel Gainus Williams and was employed as a a truck driver with Georgia-Pacific.

He is survived by one son, Milton Ray Williams of Calypso; one daughter, Lisa Gail Williams Wyatt of Ash; his companion, Mary Hare of the home, and her son and daughter, Jimmy Hare and Jenny Hall, both of Goldsboro; two brothers, Jack Williams and Jimmy Williams, both of Mount Olive; three sisters, Shelby W. Walker of Goldsboro, Martha W. Worrell of Mount Olive, and Eunice W. Hughs of Pikeville; and seven grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service tonight, and at the residence at other times.
