MARVIN HARRIS

Died Sept. 25, 2005

FARMVILLE -- Marvin Chester Harris Jr., 58, of 5396 Toddy Road, died Sunday at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at the Church Street Chapel of Farmville Funeral Home. The Rev. Bruce Jones will officiate. Interment will be in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Harris was a member of King's Cross Roads Free Will Baptist Church and Snow Hill Lions Club. For over 30 years he worked with Sprint and served as a volunteer with the Snow Hill Fire and Rescue Unit. After retiring from Sprint, he worked with East Care and worked full time with Greene County EMS until his illness. He was captain of the Greene County Rescue Association until his death.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Radford Harris of the home; two daughters, Teresa Harris of the home and Crystal Harris Windham and her husband, Paul, of Snow Hill; one sister, Nancy H. Jones and her husband, Frankie, of Sumter, S.C.; two brothers, John "Steve" Harris and his wife, Debra, of Shine and William "Gene" Harris and his wife, Kathy, of Greenville; and one grandchild, Lyndsy Anne Windham.

The family will receive friends at Farmville Funeral Home from 7 until 9 tonight, and other times at the residence.
