WARSAW -- George S. Best Jr., 73, died Sunday at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Warsaw Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Ben Burrows will officiate. Burial will be in Pinecrest Cemetery.
Mr. Best was born on Dec. 16, 1931, to the late G.S. Best Sr. and Ada Marsh Best . He was a North Carolina vocational rehabilitation counselor and was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Irene Plyler Best of the home; three daughters, Edith Best Adams and her husband, Kirk, of York, S.C., Amanda Best Allsbrook and her husband, Doug, of Rocky Point, and Rebecca Best Graeber and her husband, Allen, of Huntersville; one sister, Helen Best Jones of Morehead; and seven grandchildren.
Community Funeral Home in Warsaw is serving the family.
