PRINCETON -- Sally Worley Strickland Thompson, 86, of US 70 East, died Tuesday at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.

The funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Princeton. The Rev. Raymond Mizzel will officiate. Burial will be in Princeton Cemetery.

Mrs. Thompson was born in Johnston County and was the daughter of the late Van and Emma Jane Overman Worley. She owned and operated Sally's Beauty Shop on U.S. 70 East for over 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Bernice Strickland and Marvin Thompson, and is survived by four daughters, Brenda Baldwin of Princeton, Dorothy Mozingo and Ava Langley of Clayton and Debbie McCumber of Rosewood; a half brother, Albert Watkins of Clayton; a half sister, Lucille Blake of Fayetteville; stepchildren, Bennie Thompson, Myra Johnson, Connie McCullen and Mike Thompson of Princeton; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at the funeral home.
