Died Sept. 19, 2005

James Clifton Kornegay, 77, of 1800 O'Berry Center Road, died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be tonight at 7 at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Burial will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Kornegay was a native of Wayne County and was the son of the late Kenneth and Minnie Wiggins Kornegay and the widower of Margie Johnson Kornegay. He retired as a foreman with 45 years of service with T.A. Loving Company.

He is survived by his sons, Kenneth Kornegay and Charles "C.R." Kornegay both of Goldsboro, Gene Kornegay of Saulston and Dale Wooten and wife Margaret of Pikeville; his daughters, Susan Martin and husband, Alen, Vickie Howell and husband, Bruce and Cheryl Danielson and husband, Steve, all of Goldsboro; his sister, Ruby K. Head; half-sister, Dorothy D. Bass; half-brother, William Dail; and his grandchildren, Todd Kornegay, Cristy Kornegay, Darrell Kornegay, Ashley Kornegay, Jeremy Wooten, Dusty Wooten, Angie Garris, Chris Hall, Paige Martin, LeAnne Howell, Linzy Howell and Kimberly Lee; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Charlie Dail, and a brother, Elton Kornegay.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight following the service, and other times at the home of Vickie and Bruce Howell, 118 Oak Heights Drive, Goldsboro.
