ALBERTSON -- Nannie Harris Grady, 70, died Saturday at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston.

Born in Greene County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Richard and Lizzie Eastwood Harris. She was a member of Woodland United Methodist Church at Albertson.

She and her husband were avid square dancers and had been members for 36 years of the Mount Olive Pickle Kickers and Tan's Knee-Knockers.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, William Monroe "Bill" Grady of the home; a son, William M. Grady, Jr., and his wife, Donna, of the Sandy Bottom community near Kinston; two daughters, Rose Marie G. Slye and Violet G. Stroud, both of Seven Springs; six grandchildren, Chris Tyndall and wife Heather of Seven Springs, Jamie Tyndall of Goldsboro, Angela Butler and husband Mike of Hubert, Christy Herring and husband Chris of Kinston, April Stroud of Kenansville, and Bobby A. Creech of Seven Springs; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James Richard "J.R." Grady; a brother, Frank Jr. Harris; and a sister, Verna Mae Davis.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive with the Reverends Linwood Boyette, Vernon Brown, and J. S. Norman officiating. Interment will be in Oak Ridge Memorial Park at Pink Hill.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Tyndall Funeral Home, and at other times at the residence at 125 William Grady Lane, Albertson.
