RUTH P. PRICE
Died Sept. 15, 2005
Ruth Pittman Price, 85, of 1600 Tampa Street, Apt. 28, died Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A native of Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Joshua Vick Pittman and Melinda Ferrell Pittman and the widow of Vick Price She lived in Durham for 54 years before moving to Goldsboro. She retired from American Tobacco Company and was a member of Grey Stone Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Jerry Price of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; one daughter, Carroll Hill of Goldsboro; three brothers, Mack Pittman of Kinston, Cecil Pittman of Opp, Ala. and Bob Pittman of Charlotte; sisters, Mildred Jenkins of Goldsboro, Annie Collier of Chapel Hill and Admah, Esther, Margery and Ruth; and five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Hudson Funeral home in Durham, and the family will be present one hour prior to the service to receive friends. The Rev. Michael Smith will conduct the service. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
