Olivia Pike Musick, 74, of 108 Decoy Dr., was called to her eternal home Sunday evening surrounded by her family.
Born in Gadsden, Ala., she was the daughter of the late William Sherman & Ruth Sims Pike and wife of the late the Rev. Jack E. Musick.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John Pike; and a grandson, Chris Backus.
A dedicated preacher's wife, she was a Sunday School Teacher and Choir Member, was very active in church camps for children with special needs throughout North Carolina and Virginia, and helped start "The Pantry" for the needy at Narrows Christian Church in Narrows, Va. She was a member of Selah Christian Church.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. The Reverends Rev. Gordon Lee and Patrick Muston will officiate. Entombment will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Wayne Memorial Park Mausoleum.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jack Elbert Musick Jr of the home, Jim and Jo Musick of Dudley; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Joe Backus of Grantham; a sister, Jackie Dean Garrison of Pikeville; three grandchildren, Andy Backus and wife, Mandy, Amber Musick and Jamie Musick; a granddaughter-in-law, Jennifer Backus; two great-grandchildren, JD Backus and KaseyAnn Backus.
The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral service at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, and other times at the home.
